Renovation of Merven House From Start To Finish
Office
The ABC Banking Corporation, a fast-growing private commercial bank in Mauritius, commissioned Prodesign for the renovation of the existing Merven House, an iconic colonial 2-storey high building in 2017. They acquired the building in the heart of the capital, Port Louis, and the MEP Consultants team then transformed the interior into a modern high-tech icon.

Prodesign MEP consultancy services were required for the inspection and refurbishment of its interior basement, ground floor, first floor and external first floor balustrade. The works comprised of the modification and alteration to building services installations in the small basement, ground and first floor of the building including the front external façade works and ancillary services works.

The renovation including the mezzanine work of the interior basement, ground floor, and first floor, started in September 2017. Prodesign challenge was to ensure that the refurbished building complied with the current fire and other regulations. These restrictions created problems when it came to locate the A/C compressors, and equipment.

Our M&E Engineers worked closely with the various user departments and team leaders to provide MEP engineering and inspection systems which functioned effectively.

The building was completed in July 2018 and the wide scope of services provided was

  • Foul drainage above ground
  • Cold water supply
  • Portable fire extinguishers
  • General ventilation
  • Toilet ventilation
  • LV distribution
  • General/ Emergency/ External Lighting
  • General LV power
  • Uninterruptible power supply (UPS)

  • Data transmission
  • Access Control system
  • Structured cabling system
